Grandma Dora's Hamloaf

This recipe is from my grandma Dora and it is a huge hit with everyone. I have never actually made it, but, my mom will feature it in her kitchen on special occasions and for company. Tonight she made it for Easter dinner. Lately, she has been making them in balls which is even better becasue you get more of that yummy brown sugar crust than with a loaf. Either way, it is great! You have to find a butcher that will ground ham for you, some won't mix the kind of meat they put in the grinder.

Hamloaf

2 lbs. ground pork shoulder
1 lb ground ham
1 1/2 cups bread crumbs
2 eggs
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp pepper
1/2 cups milk

Mix all ingredients together and bake at 350 for 1 hour 15 minutes. Add glaze the last 15 minutes.

Glaze:
1 cup brown sugar
3 tsp prepared mustard

Mix brown sugar and mustard and add water until a spreadable consistency.

* If you do it in meatball form, reduce cooking time.
